CHIANGRAIIII

omg omg omg. thailand was real fun. but the plane rides werent. we left the airport at like 7+ (am) and only reached the home at like 10.30 (pm) it wasnt as bad as what mrs gurung (?) discribed, the toilets were real clean. you could walk in barefooted.
when we were at the airport, vlow's dad kept getting so concerned about my luggage which didnt have a lock. in the end he bought one for me. thanks. then he started asking me if i wanted food. aiyuh. i sat next to andrea sng on the plane to chiangrai and i realise she like to read newspaper. ( i only read the comics) from the bangkok airport we flew to the one in chiangrai. next we took a bus to the big C (supermarket) and met sister. i had kfc for lunch and mister donought (: then we had to sit the lonnngggggg 2 hour bus ride to the home.

first day: i cant exactly remember what happened. i think we went to beat the rice and clear the land. beating the rice was quite fun but i dont think i made much progress. hurhur. omg the thailand boys got alot of strength can. mkae me so jealous. hurhur.
after beating the rice we went to clear the land. we used rakes and chunkos (??????). i have like 10 thousand splinters still stuck in my finger (but not pain) from clearing the land cause of that stupid plant.
the six of us (vlow, yz, natalie, alicia, sarah and i) were the last to bathe. which was quite a good thing. no one to rush us. the toilet wasnt exactly a hole, but it wasnt a sit- on- flush-it type of toilet. however it was kinda clean and quite big actually.
breakfast was porridge, lunch was noodle and dinner was soup with spicy vegetables. my buddy (yuwadee) was 11 and likes to pile food up on my plate. vlow's buddy very drama! hahahah. and she like to copy what i say.
it was our turn to clear the dining hall and wash the plates. i went to wash the utensils and stood next to this 17 yr old thai guy called tong. he abit gay but very nice. but then when my hand brush against his when i was taking the spoon he suddenly smile. so creepy. yucks yucks yucks. and he wears a cat hairband. lol.
the games they played were supersuper fun omg. it was like an improvised version of "duck duck goose" dunno how to explain here. then we had "londen bridge was falling down" with like 50+ people playing all at one go. ohohohoh nd we had "jacobs ladder" and they kept calling number 1 because that was mrs gurungs (?) number. hahahah
the nights in chiangrai are super cold. i was freezing on the first night and in the morning i could move my legs. we slept on thin materesses and had a hard hard rock like rectangular pillow.

second day: we went to harvest the corn. omg so itchy. like if the insects are not on you its the grass thats tickling every part of your body that is not covered. but it was quite fun. the corn was really cool. like golden orange not yellow. but it wasnt meant for human consumtion. they were going to feed it to the animals. mr and miss lim KEPT flirting i the corn feild like wth. so gross lah. i cant remember what we did before/after the corn. but i know we went to the provision shop nearby. and the things there were super cheap(: bought alot of lays chips which were seaweed flavour-ed. the games today werent that fun. some i didnt even understand. i also realised my buddy likes to tickle me. she would put her arm on your shoulder, then on your waist (but i still dunno what was happening) then she would just suddenly poke you real hard. i spent like 15 mins chasing her around.
ohohoh all of us tried arm wrestling with the guys and omg they're freaking strong. i could only win the like 8-6 year olds. there was this guy called "sundae" (his name sounds like that) which ould wrestle two people at one go and just win in like one second. hehheh. i managed to win "numchook" this small teeny eeny boy who is super duper cute.
the children sleep super early can. like at 8.30 they all had to gather say their prayer and go to sleep immediately. oh but its quite creepy when they say their prayers cause they all say the same thing at the same time and it feels like youre on a different planet and the aliens are chanting something. :P

third day: today was quite slack. we went to visit the school. and they like had pigs there. quite cool. they also were trying to grow mushrooms in some narrow rectangular (i wouldnt say room) space which smelled a bit funky. (like pan lao?) hehheh.
went to clear little plots of land today for them to grow their vegetables. it was hard and felt as though you were digging your own grave. hoho.
when vlow and i were done (2 to one plot) we went to pluck long beans which we had for dinner.
after dinner we went to play again and vlow kept saying that tong kept looking at me. errrr.
i got to play with my buddy :D seemed like i tickled her for the full 1 1/2 hour we were playing.
in the night at about 10 vlow (someone i cant remember) and i snuck out of the dorm to watch our buddies practising the dance they were planning for us. then we saw tong tying the banner and vlow dared me to take his hairband from him. so i did. after he gave me that orange (like new year liddat) and we like stayed in the dorm for about 15 min until we went to pass him back his hairband again. hahar so weird. i think he think we mad.

fourth day: it was our second last day there and everyone was bummed cause we had gotten quite attached to our buddies. i THINK we went to see the sec school. it was uniform group day. i saw my buddy! (: she was in scouts. hurhur.
the bio lab in the school very cool they had like preserved animals in jars all on a shelf. but also abit gross. hurhur. the boys kept immitating us when all of us went "ewwww"
ohohoh. and they like learn chinese there. so cool.
after we visited the school we went to finish up harvesting the corn. :/ not so bad as last time cause i wore track pants. but then i got another cut from peeling the corn. ):
oh omg i think vlow's buddy was like pms-ing that day. she wouldnt speak to vanessa at all and kept showing the back face. so scary.
in the night i got a last minute present for my buddy. i took a st nicks tee shirt and wrote a message in thai for her using a permanent marker.

fifth day: last day! we went to visit the villages (omg some wooden houses got tv man) and we also went to climb the mountain which was quite fun. i bought a bracelet for my mom and my buddy there. the preserved fruits were also really tasty. but my fingers got all colourful from the colouring on the fruits. vlow's buddy was surprisigly happy today. but not for the wrong reason, haha. she played with us and didnt mind hugging vanessa.
the boys were so cute man. they like danced hip hop for us and this small boy just put a gunny sack over his head and just kept hopping around when they were dancing.
the last part was so sad. we stood in a U shape around the children and one by one they all came to hug us. i like cried when my buddy hugged me lah.
they even had fire works for us and tong came over and kept smiling to me when they released the lanterns into the air.
next we just had free time to play with the children and tong was wearing a curly wig omg. he look so funay. i gave him a hug at the end.
i shall send my buddy a card on her birthday(: 5 april 1997. which is the same as vlows sisters birthday so its easy to remember.

last day: we woke up early to see the children off to school for the last time. i was sitting on the stage when some person called "jun" then i turn then it was tong. hahar. i went to wrestle with him and he so nice let me win. andrea sng at the side kept saying : "wah qijun he dont want to let go of your hand lah"
and so now dawn lim thinks i have a boyfriend :/
tong so sweet (as in boy sweet) he wrote a note to me. say i got to come back next year. hurhur. obviously i will. so fun lah. and my buddy damn nice.

omg i miss chiangrai so much
